7 OCTOBER 2008: TMP Worldwide officially opened its Bristol Contact Centre today during National Customer Service Week. The Lord Mayor of Bristol, Councillor Christopher Davies, opened the Contact Centre, part of TMP Worldwide’s offices in Lower Castle Street.
Angela Yates, Resourcing Solutions Director at TMP Worldwide, welcomed the Lord Mayor and invited him to cut the ribbon. ‘Welcome to Contact Centre Heaven’ was the theme of the day.
“We describe this as Contact Centre Heaven as it is very different from a typical contact centre,” explained Angela Yates during the opening. “Our advisors deal with prospective candidates who respond to job advertisements placed on behalf of one of our blue-chip clients. They want to make a positive impression, and this makes for a great relationship with our advisors and an excellent environment to work in.”
The Lord Mayor met the 50 staff that have recently been recruited when the Contact Centre relocated from London to Bristol. The advisors have just completed intensive training to conduct first stage interviews with prospective job applicants.
Andrew Wilkinson, Chief Executive of TMP Worldwide, commented on the opening: “The move to Bristol has gone extremely smoothly under the guidance of Angela Yates. We are already looking to increase the size of the team after having won some new contracts for resourcing with retail, Government, Public Sector and professional services organisations.”
