Advice support and guidance on diversity issues

Individual considerations.

‘How can we ensure that our processes are not adversely impacting on specific groups?’

‘Why do most of our ethnic minority candidates fail at assessment centre stage?’

‘We want to be certain our processes are not discriminating against disabled candidates’

You want to be certain that any process you have implemented adheres to current legislation and is robust enough to protect against adverse impact.

What causes adverse impact?

Adverse impact can arise for a number of reasons:

  • Some selection tools / exercises are more susceptible to adverse impact than others
  • Cut-off rates for psychometric tests may be too high
  • Assessors can be unintentionally biased in their methodology
  • The combination of exercises can discriminate against certain groups.

We can support you by:

  • Conducting independent reviews of your selection tools and processes
  • Attending assessment centres in order to protect against unintentional assessor bias
  • Reviewing assessor skills training materials to ensure it adheres to best practice and legal requirements
  • And much more!
