Strengths Focused Assessment

Positive outcomes all round.

Boosting performance with a ‘can do’ and ‘love to do’ approach.

'We want to try something different to a competency based approach’

‘We want to find a candidate that will be energised by this role’

The growth of positive psychology has brought recognition that an individual who ‘can do’ and ‘loves to do’ the role is likely to achieve higher levels of performance.

A strengths focused approach is concerned with role outcomes and whether an individual completes the outcomes to a high standard and feels energised whilst doing so.  This approach encourages diversity because it allows individuals to complete their role in their own way according to their own unique strengths.

Strengths and Competencies

For certain roles, we think that a strengths focused approach provides a more suitable assessment of a candidate’s motivations and skills.  For example, you may find that Graduates have well polished answers to competency based questions and want a different way of assessing them.

We utilise ©Strengthscope; a psychometrically sound tool that helps to identify the key strengths of an individual and a team.  We think that our strengths focused approach provides an objective an interesting alternative.
