Often, we respond to other people's briefs. But there are occasions when we invent our own.
Our first tentative steps into alternative reality represented just such an occasion. Second LifeTM is a virtual world, launched in 2003, in which users (or residents) can explore, socialise, take part in group activities and, even, create and trade virtual property.
Could they also, we wondered, learn about and apply for real-life jobs?
The recruitment fair we organised on Second Life achieved global coverage. For our clients, it meant the chance to conduct hundreds of 'face-to-face' interviews without even having to leave home.
For our competitors, it meant a tantalising glimpse of what our industry might look like in years to come.
