Owned by Nottingham Trent University, Confetti Media Group consists of 6 companies under the control of one CEO. The group has been growing fast and the CEO needed a COO to
share the load. Confetti are fully owned by the University and 80% of their business is educational. SCOPE AND SCALE

TMP were asked to find a commercially minded Chief Operating Officer who had experience in working in a similar-sized organisation with diverse business channels at a strategic and operational level, who also had a link with or experience in education. Confetti Media Group occupy an area of central Nottingham and have just opened a new building, housing a Music school. CMG have 230 staff who provide services to 1500 students from BTec to degree level and 400 businesses. They possess one of the few Dolby approved sound studios outside of London.

SITUATION

The challenge was to find a strong leader with a commercial and innovative outlook who could understand the challenges of higher and further education.

SOLUTION

TMP partnered with CMG to manage the sourcing of passive candidates and media application management for the role. The group wanted us to provide a single point of contact and a consistent experience for all candidates, while they remained available to have informal conversations with them prior to application. We focused on finding talent with a range of commercial experience from similar sized/structured organisations but with a preference for experience in the Higher Education sector. Candidates needed to be able to deal with conflicting challenges and different business requirements but also be adept at problem solving as they would work with 6 different customer bases.
